Canadian lawyers, use this template form to prepare an Audit Confirmation Letter in response to an inquiry request from a client's auditors.
The Audit Confirmation Letter provides information required by the company's accountants to prepare and audit the corporate financial statements, such as:
- confirmation that the law firm is the solicitor of record for the corporation,
- details of any claims against the corporation which the lawyers have been retained to handle,
- any outstanding accounts owed by the company to the law firm,
- any amounts held in trust on behalf of the company.
The file also includes a copy of the form of
Audit Request Letter which should be sent from the client to the law firm to prompt the confirmation response.
