Ohio Notice of Commencement
Ohio property owners, if you are having improvements done to your property, you must give notice to all interested parties by serving them with a Notice of Commencement in accordance with Ohio Revised Code Section 1311.04.
- The Notice of Commencement is an affidavit sworn by the owner, part owner, or lessee that is contracting to have the improvements done to the property.
- The Notice sets out the first day that construction, improvements or renovations on the property are to begin, and gives relevant information about the contractor, the surety, the property owner, and the work to be performed.
- This 7-page form includes a copy of the relevant section of the Revised Code.
